The Role of Those Whom Have Gone Before….

I’ve just been through the most painful period of my life to date.  This journey though has given me insight on the assistance and support we can receive from our loved ones after they leave this existence.  I’m not ready to get into personal details, but want to explore a few ideas with you and invite your comments here on my blog.

I find that several of my relatives, including a couple that died long before I was ever thought of, have been around to give comfort and support.  One of them has been often with me for months, if not longer, and I’m very grateful.

I’ve been seeing now from my own experience that there is a soul group connection between myself and these beings.  It’s more than simply family watching out for and assisting family.  It’s about the community formed in the timeless existence of our souls with a group of others we have close relationship to and are part of the same intimate soul community.

We don’t always have the same relationships with these souls in their incarnated form.  And, we aren’t always incarnated at the same time.  Sometimes, we’re friends, sometimes partners, sometimes parent and child.  Sometimes we were antagonists on this plane, but not on the one where our true beings reside.

One of the aspects of being psychic I’m so very grateful for is that I can see, hear and feel these loving beings around me so often.  They have helped comfort me in pain, guide me and reassure me and give me insight and understanding; they seem to be assisting me in smoothing the patch or opening doors that are part of my fulfillment of my self.

Wanted - a World Wide Shift to a More Humane Planet

If we don’t have a worldwide shift in consciousness, away from hate, greed, xenophobia, ignorance and judgment, we won’t have a world left to live in; at least not one worth living in.  We need a shift focusing on the true values of the universe and creation – humanity, not corporations – equality, not bigotry and prejudice – building people up, not pulling them down – sharing resources, not greed – social and economic justice, not domination – acceptance, not intolerance…. Love and understanding, not hate… so much more – the dead really are often so much easier than the world created by the living.
As people involved with the paranormal, we should be even more aware of the universal connectedness of each and every one of us, and the value we all bring to the world with our gifts, our struggles, our light and our darkness, and our efforts to overcome the setbacks and traumas of life, and learn to be as whole and complete and mature as human beings as we can be.  It’s a life long journey.
Feel free to share your thoughts.

Do Residential Hauntings Have More Negative Entities Than Other Locations?

I had a conversation last night with a good friend who is a paranormal investigator.  Part of the conversation was the difference she felt doing investigations between homes and other spaces, and why it seemed that the houses had more negative entities than other spaces.  I have a few ideas and would like to hear your thoughts.
It could be that residents with homes that have more positive entities don’t call for investigations as often as those with entities that are more frightening.
In my experience, as a general rule entities that are of human origin represent only part of the individual’s persona.  They seem to consist of the energy and personality that the individual most exhibited in a specific area.  Negative energy or personality traits seem to be deeper and longer lasting than moments of more positive emotions.  Perhaps in homes, even ones with lots of happy memories, the negative or darker emotions are more deeply ingrained that the positive ones; whereas so many other venues have more activities that are mostly positive so that there are more positive entities in them.
I also think that entities feed on the energy that the living provides in an environment.  It’s possible that residents calling for investigations more often have a tension or other energy that the negative entities feed on.
Most places I’ve been have a mix of negative and positive – or darker and lighter entities.  Usually, one form is more dominant than the other.  Many simply have the activities of daily life repeating themselves.  All of them deserve respect and understanding.  We are the intruders in their space!
What are your thoughts on the matter?

Psychic Etiquette

For those of you whom are psychic, how do you handle meeting people who mention a location and you immediately “see” the paranormal entities and activity there?  I have this happen to me all the time, in –person, on the phone, even email.  My natural tendency is to just say what I’m getting if the topic of conversation has to do with the paranormal.  But I’m not so sure this is always appropriate!  So, I work to judge the situation and determine what is appropriate to bring up and when simply not saying anything is the best approach.  What do you do?
For those of you who talk to psychics, what do you desire along these lines?  Do you want us to just blurt out what we get, even if the topic of conversation isn’t about the paranormal, or do you want us to keep quiet?

The Ideal Haunting

What is your vision of the ideal haunted location?  As an investigator, what would intrigue you the most and draw you to a spot.  If you’re a psychic, what attracts you to the work?
I find the locations with entities that want to share their personal stories to be the most fascinating and personally fulfilling.  I value the trust the place in me in those occasions.

What’s the Place of Drama in the Paranormal World?

I’ve been very fortunate.  I got back involved in the paranormal world through westcoastghosthunters.com, a friend’s international web community that has a focus on being respectful drama free.  Through this site I have become good friends with many people and teams from all over the world, all with the same respect for one another, and open-mindedness.  These teams operate well together, have great communications, and even when things get rough, there isn’t any drama, there’s respect and understanding.

This being said, I have noticed that there are some teams who seem to attract and dwell on drama.  These teams often seem to have a different feel to their internal and external interactions, often resulting in hurt feelings and misunderstandings.

What are your thoughts on the place of  DRAMA in the paranormal community and why do you think it’s there in some groups and not others? Do you think this drama within or between teams affects the entities we may encounter in our investigations?

Psychics and Paranormal Investigations

As a psychic, I might have a slightly biased opinion of the place of psychics in paranormal investigations.  My thought is that the psychic is just as valuable as the hard evidence.  A good psychic can add depth and dimension to the investigation and can open fields of exploration that could not happen when instruments alone are used or valued.  While it’s true that psychic input on it’s own is not hard evidence, when it is linked to historic or photographic documentation that the psychic didn’t have knowledge of, or if there are independent experiences over time that support the psychic impression, then those impressions can be taken as accurate and do have weight in the investigation.

The psychic can add the personal and the art to the investigation, bringing in the personality of the entities, and the thoughts, emotions and lives of those involved.  In my opinion, a good, well rounded investigation consists of both scientific and psychic documentation and techniques.

Let me know your thoughts!
