What’s the Place of Drama in the Paranormal World?

I’ve been very fortunate.  I got back involved in the paranormal world through westcoastghosthunters.com, a friend’s international web community that has a focus on being respectful drama free.  Through this site I have become good friends with many people and teams from all over the world, all with the same respect for one another, and open-mindedness.  These teams operate well together, have great communications, and even when things get rough, there isn’t any drama, there’s respect and understanding.

This being said, I have noticed that there are some teams who seem to attract and dwell on drama.  These teams often seem to have a different feel to their internal and external interactions, often resulting in hurt feelings and misunderstandings.

What are your thoughts on the place of  DRAMA in the paranormal community and why do you think it’s there in some groups and not others? Do you think this drama within or between teams affects the entities we may encounter in our investigations?

  1. William,
I am so glad this was mentioned!! I feel very strongly that a group should have as little drama to none if possible. Yes, we are human, and things will happen, but as long as everyone is respectful of each other and the afterlife and upfront, the drama should be at bay!! I also believe drama affects investigations. Clients can certainly pick up on it, so to me of course can the afterlife . I feel there is no place for drama in this community! Life is hard enough. This should be a fun, respectful, enjoyable hobby where we help others and each other.. One thing I love about the paranormal community- the opportunities to learn.. You just have to be willing and open minded with an open heart

  2. Paranormal research is a science like any other. In this instance, it is a less respected science than it should be. Sciences should be approached professionally and as objectively as possible. When paranormal researchers approach an investigation acting like high schoolers on a field trip, it costs credibility not just to their own group, but to the field as a whole.

  4. We always bring ourselves to whereever we are and whatever we're doing.Often - times people are working out their own internal dramas anyway, lets face it !Can't imagine that in an area like this-how awful! Must be like having a basket ball team and no-one wants to let go of the ball ! :-(
